Meeting notes template
A short meeting notes template that captures what matters: who was there, what was agreed, who does what by when, and when you'll check in next. Copy it for free, or use it inside Loveley Desk, where action items turn into real tasks.
The template
MEETING Date & time: Attendees: Objective: KEY DISCUSSIONS & AGREEMENTS - What was discussed: - What was agreed: - Scope or approvals: ACTION ITEMS & DELIVERABLES - [Owner] — [Task] — [Due date] - [Owner] — [Task] — [Due date] FOLLOW-UP - Next check-in: - To prepare before then:
How to fill it in
Date, attendees and objective
Write one sentence for the objective. If you can't, the meeting probably doesn't need to happen.
Key discussions & agreements
Record what was decided, not everything that was said. Agreements and approvals are what people come back to look for.
Action items & deliverables
Every action gets one owner and a date. An action without an owner is a wish.
Follow-up
Set the next check-in before everyone leaves, and note what must be ready by then.
Questions
What should meeting notes include?
The date, who attended, the meeting's objective, what was agreed, action items with an owner and due date, and the next follow-up. That is enough for anyone who missed the meeting to act on it.
How do you take meeting notes quickly?
Fill in the date, attendees and objective before the meeting starts. During the meeting, write only agreements and actions, then spend two minutes after it assigning owners and dates.
Is this template free?
Yes. Copy it and use it anywhere. In Loveley Desk it is built into the journal, and action items you tag with # become real tasks on your desk.
